Areas of expertise:

I am a biogeologist by training and my research interests broadly focus on sediment biogeochemistry, including elemental, carbon and nutrient cycling and burial in aquatic and marine settings. In recent years I have also got interested in new methods and approaches in environmental monitoring, such as eDNA.

I am also well acquainted with the current European research and innovation landscape, especially in respect to the development of sustainable blue economy in the Baltic and North Sea region. I am also interested in R&I impact assessment and monitoring approaches, networking and working with various stakeholders.
