FIELDS OF RESEARCH: Greenstone belts, komatiitic volcanism and komatiitic Ni±Cu(±PGE) deposits. Mafic to ultramafic (layered) intrusions and related ore deposits (especially Ni-Cu-PGE deposits) and PGE-minerals. Expert in the field of the paleovolcanology, stratigraphy and komatiitic nickel deposits of Archean greenstone belts in Eastern and Northern Finland, and also the mafic to ultramafic layered intrusions, their geology, stratigraphy and Ni-Cu-PGE deposits exploration in the Fennoscandian shield. Associate professor in the University of Helsinki and University of Turku.
