Water Resources Management Services
GTK’s water resources management services respond to different challenges involving water supply by providing research data and understanding on groundwater, risk management in water production and extensive water resources management issues.

Managed aquifer recharge solutions from feasibility studies to implementation
Groundwater quality risk management
Environmentally conscious water resources management solutions
Services for shared water resources management challenges
The majority of the world’s freshwater resources are groundwater. In addition, surface waters often interact with groundwater in one way or another. There is a growing need for groundwater expertise as climate change increases the pressure on water resources.
GTK offers water resources management services in collaboration with other Finnish operators and international partners. Our operating model enables multidisciplinary teams and services tailored for each customer.
Our water resources management services promote and secure the sufficiency of clean water globally.
Hydrogeological expertise ensures successful project
GTK offers its hydrogeological expertise for extensive and demanding multidisciplinary projects.
Hydrogeological research data is needed for purposes such as the management of mine waters, managed aquifer recharge solutions, risk management of domestic water (Water Safety Plan, WSP), the management of health risks caused by groundwater, and the recycling and reuse of water.
The recycling of water also enables the recovery of trace elements and valuable materials in wastewater in the mining industry and the circular economy of minerals.
In addition, our experts offer training on water resources management, related data management and the boosting of expertise.
Reducing waste through water resources management
Water recycling and reuse solutions examine matters such as the reuse of sewage sludge and the decontamination of water.
Water resources management and energy efficiency
Energy issues are an important part of overall water resources management solutions. Sustainable water supply management solutions also need to be energy efficient.
