Promoting Sustainable Water Management with Managed Aquifer Recharge in Vietnam – ProMAR

Introduction

During the ProMAR project, we identify a few (2-3) waterworks in Vietnam that are interested in applying Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in their water production, that are feasible research sites for MAR, and where the Finnish water sector companies see export as well as research and innovation possibilities for their business sector in water related topics with focus on MAR. This could be e.g., overall consulting, planning, or building of a MAR plant as well as providing water treatment technique, monitoring technique, equipment, data management or other expertise needed for water supply and applying MAR. At the end, a suitable study site (or sites) and a consortium consisting of research organisations, the Finnish water sector companies, and Vietnamese waterworks and other companies is created for future collaboration and MAR implementation. Water utilities in Vietnam will receive a roadmap setting out a research plan for the required studies and an action plan for achieving the desired outcome towards full-scale MAR plant.
