ENGEO

Introduction

ENGEO-project implements the goals of the geoenvironment focus area of GTK´s strategy 2024-2027.

The project includes four work packages:
• Method development to monitor and measure hydrology, vegetation and greenhouse gases on peatlands.
• Study the interaction of geo- and biodiversity and define the role of GTK in the theme of geo-biodiversity.
• Produce information and develop applications to strengthen the operating condition of GTK in marine and lacustrine settings.
• Research the characteristics of soil and bedrock for construction of infrastructures and in land use planning. Structural geology is exploited in rock construction applications while sustainable utilization of aggregates and natural stones and their circular economy are promoted.

The main goal for all work in the ENGEO is to enable and strengthen the conditions to co-funded and commercial projects.
