Introduction
DroneSOM is continuing in 2025 as a DroneSOM.speed, with one year of funding from EIT Raw Materials. The project is led by the GTK in collaboration with Radai, and Beak. Aiming to develop innovative services to meet the growing demand for battery minerals.
The project has developed innovative technologies for geophysical measurement and data interpretation, including two drone-based systems (electromagnetic and gravity). Also offering integrated software tools to analyze drone-based geophysical data by creating 3D geophysical inversion models, combining 2D geophysical data with “GisSOM”, and 3D software integration with “advangeo® 3D Prediction”.
With DroneSOM.speed the aim is to enhance market impact by accelerating the commercialization of the remaining four products (excluding the gravity system). By developing a demonstrator case that shows the complete service packages.
Key services
• Drone EM System
o Conduct field testing, validation, and pilot surveys in Scandinavia.
• 3D Inversion Software
o Optimizing software for faster data turnaround and improved usability, achieved through enhanced automatic data transfer and improved workflow efficiency.
• GisSOM Software
o Integrate 2D data and enhance its educational potential while developing compatibility with Windows 11.
• advangeo® 3D Prediction Software
o Software testing and adjustments to integrate data from the EM sensor into 3D models, demonstrating workflow effectiveness.
The DroneSOM.speed services are designed for the mining industry, and the solutions cater to a diverse range of companies, from junior enterprises to major industry players. The methods are essential for discovering new resources and identifying future targets.
