I work as a researcher at GTK Espoo research laboratory, focusing on X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The method is used to identify crystalline substances and their mixtures based on the crystal structure of each (mineral) phase. With the aid of Rietveld refinement, the phase composition can also be quantified and more crystallographic data can be derived from each component phase.
