Webinar: UNFC for exploration and mining companies

UNFC (United Nations Framework Classification) is an international standard for harmonized classification of projects and enables the comparison of projects across countries.

The Geological Survey of Finland is organizing a webinar for representatives of exploration and mining companies that will cover:

  • The basics of UNFC (United Nations Framework Classification)
  • How to use UNFC classification foir mineral resources?
  • Why the European Commission wants their Member States’ mineral resources classified according to UNFC (incl. for strategic projects)?
  • What is the CRIRSCO-UNFC Bridging Document, and how it is used?

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 12:00 to 15:00.

Trainers

The trainers will be Janne Hokka and Tuomas Leskelä.

Janne Hokka has been a part of the working groups tasked with writing the UNFC Guidance Europe and CRIRSCO-UNFC Bridging Document.

Janne and Tuomas have also trained representatives of GeoSurveys and mining authorities in Europe in the use of UNFC at the national level.
